Dear member of the Maranatha church, how are you? I hope summer is going on well. Please find attached a video from our boarding department as a token of appreciation to our sister church in Maranathakerk and the Lebanese committee for partnering with us in the change we make in the lives of the boarding school children. The first part of the video you will see our boarding girls who are listing the topics they concentrated on during this year to be the change they want to see in the world.
Even though it is almost 2 years that I didn't come to meet the Lebanese committee in person and praise the Lord with you at church, we pray about you often and remember you...special hugs to the committee members and words of greetings to the church members. We have many prayer requests...I am sending only three to pray about at church and in your homes.
- An 8 year-old boy joined our boarding family last year who was suffering from malnutrition. We received him and took care of him physically, medically and educationally. In a matter of three months, he got better with proper nourishment. Now that the academic year is over, he went back to his parents in Beirut for summer vacation. His father is drunk and his mother has a severe psychiatric issue...we are worried. Kindly pray for God's providence.
- 2 beautiful sisters (9 & 13 years old) joined our boarding family in 2016-2017 academic year. They don't know where their father is. Their mother has relationships with other men. No one comes to visit them on parent's Sunday. The boarding is actually their home providing them with everything they need. Please pray for their safety during these vacation days.
- 'The wonder of time' project is the reconstruction of the clock tower in Anjar by the initiative of our church to honor the missionaries that helped people of Anjar when they arrived to Anjar from Mossadegh during time of war, famine and diseases. We are now fundraising for the construction of the tower and the clock. We hope it will be an invitation to be thankful for all the help Anjar people received, a challenge to help others, a place of christian fellowship and social gathering.
Thank you for remembering us in your prayers. I hope to see you all soon. Best regards,Hagop Akbasharian
